Meta has introduced a new line of AI-powered wearables, including smart glasses that specifically address privacy concerns by omitting cameras. These audio-only glasses, priced at $349, will be available starting October 13. Unlike Meta’s previous smart glasses versions, this new model lacks cameras for photo and video capture, reflecting the company’s commitment to enhancing privacy features. Meta continues to include a visible recording indicator in camera-equipped models as part of its ongoing wearable technology innovations.

In addition to the camera-free glasses, Meta unveiled new smart glasses with display capabilities, priced from $799, and announced plans to expand their availability to more international markets. The company is also working on lighter mixed-reality glasses that utilize an external battery and memory pack, with a projected launch date in spring 2027 and a starting price of $1,299.

Meta is positioning these AI glasses alongside Muse, its AI-powered personal assistant, as integral components of its broader consumer AI strategy. Muse is designed to handle tasks such as booking appointments, making calls, and connecting with various services, further cementing Meta’s focus on integrating AI into everyday consumer technology.
